Efforts are underway to make the arts more accessible to all residents and also to increase art education in New Jersey schools.

Perhaps it's the work of these groups that is propelling the art industry's outlook to sky-high levels through 2012. Photographers lead the way with a forecasted 54.3% increase, while interior and graphic designers aren't too far behind. Every occupation within this sector can look forward to an increase in opportunities, while the entire industry will enjoy an estimated 23.4% increase overall.

About: A warm welcome to the recently inaugurated School of Visual and Performing Arts at Kean University. The School comprises the Departments of Design, Fine Arts, Music and Theatre and reflects the University's serious commitment to the educational and cultural role of the arts. We are dedicated to providing a quality educational experience, fostering the knowledge, skills, creativity and professionalism that prepare students for the arts disciplines. We offer a wide variety of professional and performance-based programs with a strong liberal arts component. The Department of Fine Arts has a long history in training New Jersey's fine artists and art teachers. Over the years, many of our graduates have pursued careers in painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, metals, fibers and video. Their work is frequently seen in area galleries and museums. Other graduates have gone on to teach art in many of New Jersey's public schools. Request Information
