The Art Institute of Philadelphia

About: Founded by artist Philip Trachtman in 1971, the college became The Art Institute of Philadelphia in 1979. The Art Institute of Philadelphia occupies 1622 Chestnut Street, a building originally designed in 1928 as the CBS flagship radio station affiliate. Designated as a historical site by the Philadelphia Historical Commission, the Art Deco building became home to the college in 1982. Today, The Art Institute of Philadelphia has additional academic facilities at 1610 and 1510 Chestnut Street and 2300 Market Street.

About: Internationally renowned photographer and artist, Severo Antonelli, founded Antonelli Institute in 1938 in Philadelphia. The Antonelli Institute was founded to meet the training needs of professional photographers and military photographer. Following World War II, the school's excellent reputation attracted veterans seeking training in photography. Severo Antonelli served as the school's president until his retirement in September 1974. Subsequently, the school received national accreditation in May 1975 and added programs of study in Commercial Art. Antonelli Institute moved to its current location in Erdenheim, PA in 1996. The school attracts students across the United States and internationally.

About: What, exactly, is CoMAD, the College of Media Arts & Design? It's a place where you can learn creative problem solving. About: Pennsylvania College of Art & Design began as the dream of a handful of dedicated artists and their supporters in 1982. Two decades later, PCA&D has grown into a professional art college recognized as a leader in Central Pennsylvania's visual arts community. PCA&D offers four-year Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) degree programs in fine arts, graphic design, photography and illustration. In addition, the college offers continuing education opportunities with professional programs in Web design, print design, home interiors, and mural painting. A wide variety of credit and non-credit studio and computer courses are also available for adults, teen, and youth. Providing a complementary balance to the program's studio work, the college has carefully developed specific liberal arts requirements and electives with a true significance and relevance to the education and life of an artist.
